08 AUG 2013 - L.A. DERBY DOLLS PARTNERS WITH ST.VINCENT MEDICAL CENTER AND THE MEXICAN CONSULATE TO PROVIDE FREE HEALTHCARE AND EMPLOYMENT RESOURCES FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS
On Saturday, August 17th, from 10am – 2pm, the L.A. Derby Dolls, along with St. Vincent Medical Center and the Mexican Consulate, will host their 5th Annual Free Health & Job Fair at 1910 W Temple St, Los Angeles, CA 90026 for Angelenos in the Central East Los Angeles Area.
This free community event will feature health services such as ear and eye exams, STD and cholesterol testing, dental exams, bone marrow registry provided by Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry, and many other healthcare resources. Featured healthcare service providers will include Compton Mobile Unit, Didi Hirsh Mental Health Services, Smile Partners, and many more. Recruitment personnel from the California Highway Patrol, PV Jobs, California State Board of Equalization, Associated Builders and Contractors, and many other career providers will also be available at the fair this year. Additional services offered include self-esteem classes along with yoga and self-defense workshops. Activity for children and refreshments will be provided. Blood donor services will be provided by City of Hope.
The Health & Job Fair reinforces the L.A. Derby Dolls’ commitment to provide comprehensive services tailored to the needs of its community. The event is free and open to all ages and is located at The Doll Factory, 1910 Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90026 (between Alvarado and Union). Free parking is available at Silver Lake Medical Center, 1711 West Temple (near the intersection of Temple and Union) one block east of the Doll Factory. Junior Derby Dolls Camp
LA Junior Derby Dolls are pulling out the stops as they plan their next Junior’s Roller Derby Training Camp, July 15-19 at the Doll Factory. The junior’s league is always on the lookout for adventurous young girls ages 7-17 to join. The L.A. Junior Derby Dolls camp will teach participants the skating skills, teamwork and strategy needed to play roller derby: the world’s fastest-growing women’s sport. OFFICIAL RULES:
Deadline for all entries is May 3rd by midnight.
Submission of photos is consent for use of the photos by Derby Dolls in all future promotional material. Derby Dolls are not required to and will decide on photos to be used in their sole discretion. Submission of photos waives all rights of publicity and privacy to the photos. All photos submitted are warranted as the property of the entrant to the contest and has no claims of ownership as intellectual property belonging to anyone else, either in copyright, trademark or otherwise under United States laws or International laws.
Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold Derby Dolls harmless for any claims of infringement by any party claiming ownership of the photos submitted. It shall be the obligation of entrant to pay all associated damages and fees with any finding of infringement based on the submission of photos to the Derby Dolls by entrant.
No limits on unique entries. Submissions must be one person per entry; no joint submissions.
Prize requires further agreement to be executed to relinquish liability for personal and private property damage that may occur while in the infield and otherwise on Derby Doll property. Winner also agrees to waive all rights of privacy and publicity and any other rights that may be implicated, and consents to be webcast live while participating in Guest Coaching for the Derby Dolls.
Guest Coaching is not an employment position and has no monetary value.
Guest Coach allows VIP access to behind the scenes meetings and warm up sessions but is not a grant of all access to dressing rooms for all purposes. Restrictions on access shall be further explained on or before game day, May 18th prior to access granted.
