08 May 2011 - THE BLACK WIDOWS SKATE AGAINST SPIKED PUNCH FOR THE 10TH BABY DOLL BRAWL AT THE L.A. DERBY DOLLS DOLL FACTORY MAY 8TH

Los Angeles – On Sunday May 8^th the Doll Factory will welcome fans to the 10th Baby Doll Brawl, where the L.A. Derby Dolls newest skaters will fight to prove their mettle to their fans and themselves.   Showcasing their skating skills and knowledge, The Black Widows and Spiked Punch will fight their way to victory on the track in this all ages event.  Also on May 8^th, during half time, the L.A. Junior Derby Dolls will be jumping onto the banked track for a 30 minute exhibition bout in which the Junior Dolls, ages 8 to 17, will get to strap on their roller skates and debut their skills to show friends and fans why they are the derby stars of the future!

L.A. Derby Dolls events offer a full range of entertainment off the track, with the Vendor Village featuring art, jewelry and clothes, food from Garage Pizza and Hot Dog on a Stick, and healthy beverages from Ex-Drinks.  May 8^th will be alcohol free due to the all ages event.

The L.A. Derby Dolls are one of only eleven leagues in the U.S. playing roller derby on a banked track.  Like most modern female roller derby leagues, the Derby Dolls are volunteer-run and give back to the community that has embraced them.

TWO DERBY DOLL FAVORITES BATTLE IT OUT ON THE BANKED TRACK MAY 7TH.

Los Angeles – The Varsity Brawlers started their 2011 home season with a win against three-year champions, the Tough Cookies, showing all competition that they are bringing the heat to the track, and are ready to fight for this year’s title.  The Swarm, having lost their season opener to the Sirens by one point will be back and buzzing with a sting to keep their name in the game and their skates on the bank, proving why they were last years most fierce and feared competition.  Will the Brawlers bring down San Diego's ladies in yellow, or will The Swarm fly right by to score the points? This hard-hitting game will be a battle till the very last whistle, and one fight that both teams are determined to win. Los Angeles Derby Dolls are hosted at the Doll factory, the Derby Dolls home in LA’s Historic Filipinotown.

Los Angeles – The Sirens began their 2011 season with a one point win against The Swarm, showing all teams that the officers are more than ready to fight to the last whistle to show whose in charge.  Approaching their first game of the season, Fight Crew are flying high and ready to drop bombs on The Sirens, with a strong line up and a determination to take the lead. April 16th will see these two opponents take it to the track for what will be a game of bruises and heart.  Whether Fight Crew take off flying high, or are chased down by the Sirens, this game is not to be missed.
