LOS ANGELES SIRENS FACE OFF AGAINST THE VARSITY BRAWLERS

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH

LOS ANGELES DERBY DOLLS FRESH MEAT SHOWCASE THEIR SKILLS SUNDAY NOVEMBER 13TH

Los Angeles – Saturday, November 12th will see L.A. Derby Dolls Sirens play the Varsity Brawlers in what will be the Brawlers last game of the season.  2011 has seen the undefeated Sirens storm the track, slaying every team that has dared to cross their path.  Already securing their place in the 2011 Championships, this game will be the Sirens’ chance to show the Varsity Brawlers that there is no home team that can not be stopped by the ladies in blue.  With a solid start to the 2011 season, Varsity Brawlers have put up a valiant fight all year and will be looking to go out with a bang, taking down the undefeated Sirens and showing the fans and skaters alike that although they will not compete for the title prize, they can beat the Sirens and end their year as they want to continue into 2012 – with a win.  This game will be action packed, exciting and should not be missed.  While Saturday’s bout will be 21+ and serving alcohol, Sunday will see up and coming derby skaters, training as the L.A. Derby Dolls Fresh Meat, go head to head under teams named Bikini Kill and The Misfits.  This Sunday event will be all ages and half time entertainment will be provided on the track by The Los Angeles Junior Derby Dolls.   Come join us at The Doll Factory, located in historic Filipinotown, for a full weekend of all action derby fun!

L.A. Derby Dolls events offer a full range of entertainment off the track, with the Vendor Village featuring art, jewelry and clothes, food from Garage Pizza and a variety of food trucks, and natural energy beverages provided by Ex-Drinks.  Tecate beer will be served by Alex’s Bar and The Derby Dolls proudly introduce ready-to-drink Jack Daniel’s bottles as a new sponsor for the 2011 season. Stila cosmetics will be at the games treating our fans to some pampering, as well as additional 2011 season sponsorship from S-One Helmet Company and N101 Nutrition & Health. There will be live musical entertainment at half time on Saturday 12th and raffle tickets will be sold during the game for a wide selection of prizes.

Tickets are now available to purchase at www.derbydolls.com/la.  General admission tickets are $18 when purchased on line and $20 when bought day in cash day of game; VIP tickets are $40.00. About the L.A. Derby Dolls:

Founded in 2003, the L.A. Derby Dolls (www.derbydolls.com/la) are Southern California’s premiere women’s banked-track, quad-skating, roller derby league. Within the league, five fierce teams battle for dominance: Fight Crew, Sirens, Swarm, Tough Cookies and Varsity Brawlers. While their uniforms may be stylish and their names playful, do not be fooled by appearances – the L.A. Derby Dolls are athletes who skate a sport that is unscripted and real. Honored as a Treasure of Los Angeles by the Central City Association, the L.A. Derby Dolls embody the do-it-yourself, “for the skaters, by the skaters” ethos of modern women’s roller derby.

The L.A. Derby Dolls are one of only thirteen leagues in the U.S. playing roller derby on a banked track.  Like most modern female roller derby leagues, the Derby Dolls are volunteer-run and give back to the community that has embraced them. The league also operates the Junior Derby Dolls for girls ages 8-17.
