OCT 4 - L.A. DERBY DOLLS PARTNERS WITH ST.VINCENT MEDICAL CENTER AND THE MEXICAN CONSULATE TO PROVIDE FREE HEALTHCARE AND EMPLOYMENT RESOURCES FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS
July 24, 2014 – Los Angeles – On Saturday, October 4th, from 10am – 2pm, the L.A. Derby Dolls, in partnership with the Mexican Consulate and St. Vincent Medical Center and support from Los Angeles Council Member Michael O’Farrell, will host their 6th Annual Health Fair at 1910 W Temple St, Los Angeles, CA 90026 for Angelenos in the Central East Los Angeles Area.
This free community event will feature health services such as ear and eye exams, cholesterol testing, dental exams, and many other healthcare resources. Featured healthcare service providers will include Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Clinic, Lions Club of Pasadena, Southern California Health Institute, Asian Pacific Health Corps, and many more. Additional services offered include self-esteem classes along with yoga and self-defense workshops. Representatives from Planned Parenthood and the Department of Public Social Services will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Activity for children and refreshments will be provided.
The Health & Job Fair reinforces the L.A. Derby Dolls’ commitment to provide comprehensive services tailored to the needs of its community. More than 500 residents are expected to attend. The event is free and open to all ages and is located at The Doll Factory, 1910 Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90026 (between Alvarado and Union). Free parking is available at Silver Lake Medical Center, 1711 West Temple (near the intersection of Temple and Union) one block east of the Doll Factory.
